لڑکیوں کے ساتھ حسن سلوک

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes on the charge of two girls and raises them until they reach the age of maturity, he and I will be like this on the Day of Resurrection." The narrator Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) joined the fingers of his hand fully together to show it — meaning that, just as these fingers are joined one to another, so too he and that person will be right together. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it to be the right of every parent's child upon them that, from the very beginning, they should attend to the child's teaching and upbringing; if they fall short in this, they will be sinful. The great importance of treating daughters well in particular is made clear by this hadith. Before Islam, the Arabs regarded the birth of a girl as a burden and a cause of disgrace, and many hard-hearted people would even bury them alive in the earth with their own hands. But Islam not only erased any distinction between sons and daughters in the matter of the rights of children; regarding special kindness to daughters, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not merely declare it to be their right, but — along with announcing entry into Paradise and deliverance from the punishment of Hell — also gave the glad tiding that the believers who treat daughters well will be as close to him on the Day of Resurrection as the joined fingers of one hand.

Sadly, even today in many regions and communities a girl is regarded as a burden and a calamity, and an atmosphere of gloom and sorrow descends over her birth. May Allah the Exalted grant all of us Muslims a correct understanding of Islam. (Ameen)
