مال و دولت کا فتنہ
حضرت عمرو بن عوف رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”خدا کی قسم! میں تمہارے لیے فقر و افلاس سے نہیں ڈرتا بلکہ مجھے تمہارے بارے میں اس بات کا خوف ہے کہ دنیا تم پر کشادہ کردی جائے گی (اور تم مالداروں کا طور طریقہ اختیار کر کے مختلف قسم کی آفتوں اور بلاؤں کے ذریعہ ہلاکت و تباہی میں مبتلا ہوجاؤ گے) جس طرح پہلے لوگوں پر کشادہ کی گئی تھی جو تم سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں (اور دنیا مال و دولت کی بے رغبتی و محبت رکھنے کی وجہ سے فقراء اور مساکین پر رحم نہیں کھاتے اور ان کی مدد و اعانت سے گریز کرتے تھے، جس کے نتیجہ میں دنیا نے ان کو تباہ و برباد کردیا) چنانچہ تم بھی دنیا کی طرف رغبت کرو گے (یعنی دنیا کو اختیار کرو گے اور اس کی طرف نہایت رغبت رکھو گے) اور ایک دوسرے سے مال و دولت اور جاہ و حکومت حاصل کرنے کے لیے لڑائی جھگڑا شروع کردو گے، جیسا کہ تم سے پہلے لوگوں نے اس کی طرف رغبت کی تھی اور پھر یہ دنیا تم کو اسی طرح برباد کردے گی جس طرح ان کو تباہ و برباد کرچکی ہے۔“ (بخاری و مسلم)
اس حدیث مبارکہ میں سرکار دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے امت کی ایک انتہائی اہم اور نازک معاملے کی طرف راہنمائی فرمائی جو آج کے حالات میں حرف بحرف صحیح ثابت ہو رہی ہے، اگرچہ فقر و افلاس کی وجہ سے بھی آدمی فتنہ و آزمائش میں پڑ سکتا ہے لیکن اس سے بڑھ کر اس کے بارے میں اندیشہ اس وقت ہوتا ہے جب کہ اس کے لیے مال و متاع کی راہیں کھل جائیں اور وہ دولت کی چاہت میں اپنی اصل ذمہ داریوں کو فراموش کر بیٹھے، بس صرف فکر ہو تو اس بات کی کہ اس کی جلد سے جلد زیادہ سے زیادہ سرمایہ سمیٹ لے، حرص کا ایسا بندہ بن کر رہ جائے کہ نہ فقراء و مساکین پر رحم آئے اور نہ اپنی دولت کو راہ خدا میں خرچ کر سکے اور بالآخر اللہ تعالیٰ کے غضب میں گرفتار ہوکر رہے، جس طرح پچھلی قومیں اللہ تعالیٰ کے عذاب کا شکار ہوئی ہیں۔
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے بعض پچھلی قوموں اور امتوں کا وہ تجربہ تھا کہ جب ان کے پاس دنیا کی دولت بہت زیادہ آئی تو ان میں دنیاوی حرص اور دولت کی رغبت و چاہت اور زیادہ بڑھ گئی اور وہ دنیا کے دیوانے اور متوالے ہوگئے اور اصل مقصد زندگی کو بھلا دیا، پھر اس کی وجہ سے ان میں باہم حسد و بغض بھی پیدا ہوا اور آخر آخر ان کی دنیا پرستی نے ان کو تباہ و برباد کردیا، سرکار دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اپنی امت کے بارے میں اسی کا زیادہ ڈر تھا، اس حدیث میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ازراہ شفقت امت کو اس خطرے سے آگاہ کیا اور فرمایا کہ تم پر فقر و ناداری کے حملے کا مجھے زیادہ ڈر نہیں بلکہ اس کے برعکس تم پر بہت زیادہ دولت آجانے سے دنیا پرستی میں مبتلا ہوکر تمہارے ہلاک و برباد ہو جانے کا مجھے زیادہ خوف اور ڈر ہے۔
مال و دولت کی فراخی و آسودگی جو دنیا کو گرویدہ بناتی ہے، حرص و طمع کی، جوڑنے سمیٹنے اور ذخیرہ اندوزی کو خوگر کرتی ہے، اور آخر کار یہ چیزیں انسان کو اخلاقی اور روحانی طور پر تباہ و برباد کردیتی ہیں اور اخروی ہلاکت کا بھی ذمہ دار بنا دیتی ہیں، اس لیے سرکار دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مسلمانوں کو دنیاوی خوشحالی و آسودگی اور مالداری سے اپنے خوف کا اظہار فرمایا ہے۔
آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اس ارشاد کا مقصد و مدعا اس خوشنما فتنہ کی طرف اپنی امت کو خبردار کرنا ہے تا کہ ایسا وقت آنے پر اس کے برے اثرات سے اپنا بچاؤ کرنے کی فکر کی جائے۔
اللہ تعالیٰ تمام امت کو ان تمام فتنوں سے محفوظ فرمائے جو مسلمانوں میں آپس میں نفاق اور دشمنی کا باعث بنتے ہیں۔ آمین!
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے بعض پچھلی قوموں اور امتوں کا وہ تجربہ تھا کہ جب ان کے پاس دنیا کی دولت بہت زیادہ آئی تو ان میں دنیاوی حرص اور دولت کی رغبت و چاہت اور زیادہ بڑھ گئی اور وہ دنیا کے دیوانے اور متوالے ہوگئے اور اصل مقصد زندگی کو بھلا دیا، پھر اس کی وجہ سے ان میں باہم حسد و بغض بھی پیدا ہوا اور آخر آخر ان کی دنیا پرستی نے ان کو تباہ و برباد کردیا، سرکار دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اپنی امت کے بارے میں اسی کا زیادہ ڈر تھا، اس حدیث میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ازراہ شفقت امت کو اس خطرے سے آگاہ کیا اور فرمایا کہ تم پر فقر و ناداری کے حملے کا مجھے زیادہ ڈر نہیں بلکہ اس کے برعکس تم پر بہت زیادہ دولت آجانے سے دنیا پرستی میں مبتلا ہوکر تمہارے ہلاک و برباد ہو جانے کا مجھے زیادہ خوف اور ڈر ہے۔
مال و دولت کی فراخی و آسودگی جو دنیا کو گرویدہ بناتی ہے، حرص و طمع کی، جوڑنے سمیٹنے اور ذخیرہ اندوزی کو خوگر کرتی ہے، اور آخر کار یہ چیزیں انسان کو اخلاقی اور روحانی طور پر تباہ و برباد کردیتی ہیں اور اخروی ہلاکت کا بھی ذمہ دار بنا دیتی ہیں، اس لیے سرکار دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مسلمانوں کو دنیاوی خوشحالی و آسودگی اور مالداری سے اپنے خوف کا اظہار فرمایا ہے۔
آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اس ارشاد کا مقصد و مدعا اس خوشنما فتنہ کی طرف اپنی امت کو خبردار کرنا ہے تا کہ ایسا وقت آنے پر اس کے برے اثرات سے اپنا بچاؤ کرنے کی فکر کی جائے۔
اللہ تعالیٰ تمام امت کو ان تمام فتنوں سے محفوظ فرمائے جو مسلمانوں میں آپس میں نفاق اور دشمنی کا باعث بنتے ہیں۔ آمین!
English translation
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr ibn Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “By Allah, I do not fear poverty and destitution for you; rather, what I fear for you is that the world will be spread out before you (and that, adopting the ways of the wealthy, you will be destroyed and ruined through all kinds of calamities and afflictions), just as it was spread out before those who came before you — and just as the world destroyed and ruined them, so too you will incline towards the world (choosing it and desiring it intensely) and will begin to fight and quarrel with one another to gain wealth, riches, rank and power, just as those before you inclined towards it; and then this world will destroy you just as it destroyed them.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
In this blessed hadith the Prophet ﷺ guided the Ummah on a most important and delicate matter, one that is proving true word for word in the circumstances of today. Although a person may fall into trial through poverty and want, the greater danger is feared when the doors of wealth and possessions are opened to him and, in his craving for riches, he forgets his true responsibilities — his only concern becoming to amass as much wealth as quickly as possible, until he becomes such a slave of greed that he neither has mercy on the poor and needy nor is able to spend his wealth in the way of Allah, and is finally seized by the wrath of Allah, just as earlier nations were struck by His punishment.
Before the Prophet ﷺ lay the experience of certain earlier nations and communities: when abundant worldly wealth came to them, their worldly greed and love of riches only increased, they became infatuated with the world and forgot the real purpose of life; this then bred mutual envy and malice among them, and in the end their love of the world destroyed and ruined them. The Prophet ﷺ feared this most for his own Ummah, and in this hadith he compassionately warned the Ummah of this danger, saying that he did not fear the onslaught of poverty upon them so much as he feared their ruin through becoming lost in worldliness when great wealth came to them.
The abundance and ease of wealth makes one enamoured of the world, habituates one to greed, hoarding and accumulation, and ultimately ruins a person morally and spiritually and makes him liable to destruction in the Hereafter as well. For this reason the Prophet ﷺ expressed his fear for the Muslims of worldly prosperity, ease and affluence.
The purpose and aim of this saying of the Prophet ﷺ is to warn his Ummah against this alluring trial, so that when such a time comes one may take thought to guard oneself against its evil effects.
May Allah protect the whole Ummah from all the trials that become a cause of hypocrisy and enmity among Muslims. Ameen!
