قوی مومن کمزور مومن

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, though there is good in both. Be eager for what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not lose heart. And if some affliction befalls you, do not say, 'Had I done such-and-such, it would have been so'; rather say, 'Allah has decreed it, and He does what He wills,' for the word 'if' opens the door to the work of Satan."

This hadith shows the importance of gaining and preserving physical and spiritual health and strength; let those who harm their well-being by using injurious things pay special heed.

It likewise teaches that one must never be neglectful of what is beneficial, especially in matters of religion, and that every lawful means should be adopted to attain it. Allah has power over all things, and nothing can be attained without His help. If, after making the effort, the outcome is not as one wished, then to be content with Allah's decree is the mark of a believer, a blessing of which the disbeliever is deprived. Likewise, to lose heart is contrary to the dignity of a believer; the true station of the believer is the one Allama Iqbal described:

In the world the people of faith live like the sun: here it sets, there it rises; here it sets, there it rises.
