امتِ محمدیہ پر خصوصی عنایتِ ربانی

Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Allah folded up the earth for me (that is, He gathered up its expanse) so that I saw its easternmost and westernmost ends, and I can say with certainty that the dominion of my Ummah will soon reach all those regions of the earth that were shown to me folded up. And I have been given the red and white treasures. And I begged my Lord for my Ummah that He would not destroy them by a widespread famine (that is, that He would not send such a famine that the whole Ummah would perish in it), and that He would not set over my Ummah any enemy other than themselves who would seize the centre of their collective and communal order. So my Lord said: ‘O My Muhammad ﷺ, when I decree a matter it cannot be reversed. Therefore I decree for your Ummah that they shall not perish by a widespread famine, and that I shall not set over them any enemy other than themselves who would seize the centre of their collective and communal order — even though all the non-Muslim enemies of the whole earth were to gather and attack them — except that your Ummah themselves kill one another and cast one another into imprisonment and captivity.’” (Muslim)

In this blessed hadith the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave his Ummah the first glad tiding: that the people of his Ummah would very soon rule all the regions of the earth and become owners of the red and white treasures. This prophecy of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was fulfilled: the Muslims obtained the empires of Caesar and Chosroes, ruled over their kingdoms, and became owners of all their treasures — that is, the gold and silver treasures of Caesar and Chosroes. Most likely the red and white treasures here mean the stores of gold and silver.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made a supplication, and Allah has forever secured all Muslims until the Day of Resurrection from two things: first, that a situation of general famine and starvation that would collectively destroy all Muslims will never come to pass; and second, that even if all the anti-Islam and anti-Muslim powers of the whole earth were to unite in wishing to seize the centre of the Muslims' religious and collective structure and destroy it, this will never happen. There is, however, one thing that can occur: that mutual division and discord arise among the Muslims themselves — that brother begins to cut brother's throat, that one Muslim begins to disgrace and dishonour another, and that the collective strength of the Muslims, instead of being used against their common enemy, is turned against one another; and in such a state the enemy rises up and weakens their collective strength, or harms the communal and religious unity and the political centre of the Muslims of some region.

Both of these decrees of Allah have been decreed forever; no one can change them, nor can anyone succeed against them.
