بچے کی موت پر صبر کا اجر
حضرت ابو موسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:'' جب کسی شخص کے بچے کا انتقال ہو جاتا ہے تو اللہ جل جلالہ فرشتوں سے پوچھتے ہیں میرے بندے کے بچے کی روح قبض کرلی؟ وہ جواب میں کہتے ہیں، جی ہاں۔ (اللہ تعالیٰ) پوچھتے ہیں تم نے اس کے دل کے ٹکڑے کی روح قبض کرلی؟ وہ کہتے ہیں جی ہاں، (اللہ تعالیٰ) پوچھتے ہیں میرے بندے نے کیا کہا؟ وہ (فرشتے) کہتے ہیں کہ آپ کی حمد بیان کی اور اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْن پڑھا تو اللہ تعالیٰ ارشاد فرماتے ہیں: میرے بندے کے لیے جنت میں ایک گھر بنا دو اور اس کا نام بیت الحمد رکھ دو۔'' (ترمذی)
مسلمان جب ایمان کے بلند درجے اور یقین کی بلندیوں کو چھو لیتا ہے اور تقدیر الٰہی خواہ اس کے خلاف ہو یا موافق اس پر یہ ایمان رکھتا ہے کہ سب اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے ہوتا ہے تو پھر اس کی نگاہ میں حادثات و واقعات کی کوئی حیثیت نہیں ہوتی اور مصیبتوں کا جھیلنا اس کے لیے آسان ہو جاتا ہے اور اس کو جو مصیبت یا حادثہ پیش آتا ہے اس میں وہ اللہ ہی کے در پر جھکتا ہے۔ یہ نہیں کہ اس کو غم یا افسوس نہیں ہوتا۔ مشکلات و حادثات میں غم اور افسوس ایک فطری جذبہ ہے جو ہر انسان کو ہوتا ہے۔ ایک مسلمان اور کافر میں فرق یہ ہے کہ مسلمان کا دل مطمئن ہوتا ہے اور ضمیر مصیبت پر صبر کی راحت محسوس کرتا ہے۔ وہ ہر حال میں اللہ رب العزت کے فیصلے کے سامنے سر جھکا دیتا ہے۔
ایمان کے اس درجے کے بارے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ خبر دی کہ جس کے بچے کا انتقال ہو جائے اور وہ اس حادثے پر صبر کرے، اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْن پڑھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے لیے جنت میں بیت الحمد تعمیر فرمائیں گے۔ اس صبر کے بڑے فائدے حاصل ہوتے ہیں جنہیں اجر کی امید رکھتے اور صبر کرنے والا ہی حاصل کرسکتا ہے۔ یہ فائدے انسان کو اس دن حاصل ہوں گے جس دن نہ اولاد کام آئے گی اور نہ مال و دولت۔
ان فائدوں میں سے ایک فائدہ یہ ہے کہ یہ جنت میں پہنچانے اور دوزخ سے بچانے کا ذریعہ ہے۔ ایک حدیث میں ہے کہ:'' تم میں کوئی ایسی عورت نہیں جس کے تین بچے وفات پا جائیں مگر یہ کہ وہ بچے اس عورت کے لیے دوزخ سے آڑ بنیں گے۔'' ایک عورت نے کہا'' اور اگر دو بچے مر جائیں؟'' آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:'' دو بھی۔'' (بحوالہ بخاری و مسلم)
ابو حسان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ میرے دو بچے وفات پا گئے تو میں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے کہا کہ:'' آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس سلسلہ میں کوئی حدیث سنی ہو تو اسے سنا کر مرنے والوں کی طرف سے ہمارے دلوں کو کچھ سکون پہنچائیں۔'' انہوں نے فرمایا:'' جی ہاں۔'' اور پھر فرمایا: چھوٹے بچے جنت کے کیڑے ہیں، وہ اپنے باپ (یا والدین) کے کپڑوں کا کنارہ یا ہاتھ پکڑ لیں گے جیسا کہ میں نے تمہارے اس کپڑے کا کنارہ پکڑا ہے اور پھر وہ اس وقت تک ان کو نہ چھوڑیں گے جب تک کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان کو اور ان کے والدین کو جنت میں نہ داخل فرمادیں۔ (بحوالہ مسلم)
یہاں یہ بات جان لینی چاہیے کہ بچے کی موت پر افسوس اور غم ہونا یہ بالکل الگ بات ہے۔ خود آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنے نواسے کی موت پر آبدیدہ ہوگئے اور جب ایک صحابی نے پوچھا:'' اے اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہ کیا بات ہے؟'' تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا:'' اللہ کی رحمت ہے جو اس نے اپنے بندوں کے دلوں میں رکھ دی ہے۔''
جو پیغام ان احادیث میں دیا جا رہا ہے وہ یہ کہ بچوں کی موت پر صبر بڑے اجر کی چیز ہے اور ایسے موقع پر تنگ دل نہ ہوں، یہ کہیں کہ اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْن (بے شک ہم سب اللہ ہی کی امانت ہیں اور اسی کی طرف ہم کو لوٹ کر جانا ہے۔)

English translation
Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When a person's child dies, Allah, the Majestic, asks the angels, 'Did you take the soul of My servant's child?' They reply, 'Yes.' He asks, 'Did you take the soul of the piece of his heart?' They say, 'Yes.' He asks, 'What did My servant say?' They (the angels) say, 'He praised You and said Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn.' Then Allah says: 'Build for My servant a house in Paradise and name it Bayt al-Ḥamd (the House of Praise).'"
When a Muslim attains the lofty rank of faith and touches the heights of certainty, and believes that everything — whether against him or in his favour — comes from Allah, then in his sight calamities and events carry no weight, and bearing hardships becomes easy for him; whatever affliction or misfortune befalls him, he bows at the door of Allah alone. This is not to say that he feels no grief or sorrow: grief and sorrow in difficulties and calamities are a natural emotion that every human being feels. The difference between a Muslim and a disbeliever is that the Muslim's heart is at peace and his conscience feels the comfort of patience in affliction; in every state he bows his head before the decree of Allah, the Lord of Might.
Concerning this rank of faith the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the news that whoever's child dies and he bears this calamity with patience, reciting Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn, Allah will build for him a Bayt al-Ḥamd in Paradise. Great benefits are gained from this patience — benefits that only one who hopes for reward and is patient can attain. These are benefits a person will gain on the Day when neither children nor wealth will avail.
One of these benefits is that it is a means of reaching Paradise and being saved from the Fire. In one hadith it is stated: "There is no woman among you whose three children die but that those children will be a shield for her against the Fire." A woman asked, "And if two die?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Even two." (Bukhārī and Muslim)
Abū Ḥassān narrated that two of his children died, so he said to Abū Hurairah (RA): "If you have heard any hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on this matter, then relate it to us so as to give our hearts some comfort concerning those who have died." He said, "Yes," and then said: the little children are the little ones of Paradise; each of them will take hold of the hem of his father's (or parents') garment or his hand — just as I have taken hold of the hem of your garment — and he will not let go until Allah admits him and his parents into Paradise. (Muslim)
Here it should be understood that grieving and feeling sorrow at a child's death is an entirely separate matter. The Prophet ﷺ himself was moved to tears at the death of his grandson, and when a Companion asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, what is this?", he ﷺ said: "It is a mercy that Allah has placed in the hearts of His servants."
The message given in these ahadith is that patience at the death of children is a thing of great reward; on such an occasion one should not be narrow-hearted, but should say Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn (Indeed, we all belong to Allah as a trust, and to Him we shall return).
