روزہ دار کو افطار کرانے کا ثواب
عَنْ زَیْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِیِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ فَطَّرَ صَائِمًا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ غَیْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا یَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِ الصَّائِمِ شَیْئًا.
حضرت زید بن خالد الجہنی رضی الله تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول الله صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا:”جس نے کسی روزہ دار کو افطار کرا دیا اسے اس (روزہ دار) کے برابر ثواب ہوگا بغیر اس کے کہ روزہ دار کے ثواب میں کوئی کمی ہو۔“ ((سنن الترمذی، کتاب الصوم، باب ما جاء فی فضل من فطر صائما، رقم الحدیث ۸۰۶))
الله تعالیٰ کے لطف و کرم کی یہ ایک خاص شان ہے کہ کسی نیکی کی ترغیب دینے والے یا اس میں مدد کرنے والے یا اس میں کسی طرح اس میں حصہ لینے والے کو بھی اس عمل والے کے برابر ہی ثواب عطا فرماتے ہیں تا کہ ہمارے اندر ”تعاون علی البر و التقویٰ“ (نیکی اور پرہیزگاری کے کاموں میں ایک دوسرے سے تعاون اور ہاتھ بٹانے) کا جذبہ پیدا ہو۔ اس حدیث شریف میں بھی اسی طرح کی ترغیب ہے۔
ایک اور روایت میں آتا ہے کہ آپ صلی الله علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا گیا کہ یا رسول الله صلی الله علیہ وسلم! ہم میں سے ہر ایک کو افطار کرانے کا سامان میسر نہیں ہوتا (تو کیا غرباء اس عظیم ثواب سے محروم رہیں گے؟) آپ صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ الله تعالیٰ یہ ثواب اس شخص کو بھی دے گا جو دودھ کی تھوڑی سی پر یا صرف پانی ہی کے ایک گھونٹ پر کسی روزہ دار کا افطار کرا دے۔ (رسول الله صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے سلسلہ کلام جاری رکھتے ہوئے آگے ارشاد فرمایا کہ) اور جو کوئی کسی روزہ دار کو پورا کھانا کھلا دے اس کو الله تعالیٰ میرے حوض (یعنی کوثر) سے ایسا سیراب کرے گا جس کے بعد اس کو کبھی پیاس ہی نہیں لگے گی حتیٰ کہ وہ جنت میں پہنچ جائے گا۔ (بحوالہ بیہقی)
اس حدیث سے روزہ افطار کرانے کی بہت بڑی فضیلت ثابت ہوئی۔ روزہ افطار کرانے پر الله تعالیٰ تین انعام عطا فرماتے ہیں۔ اور یہ انعام پیٹ بھر کھانا کھلانے پر ہی نہیں بلکہ ایک چھوارہ یا کھجور یا دودھ کی تھوڑی سی یا کسی پانی کے ایک گھونٹ سے افطار کرانے پر بھی عطا فرماتے ہیں وہ تین انعام یہ ہیں۔ (۱) گناہوں کی مغفرت (۲) آتش دوزخ سے نجات اور (۳) جس شخص نے کسی روزہ دار کا روزہ افطار کرایا تو افطار کرانے والے کو اس روزہ دار کے برابر ثواب ملتا ہے اس طرح سے کہ افطار کرانے کے ثواب میں ذرہ برابر کمی نہیں آتی۔
غور فرمائیے! ایک چھوارہ یا ایک کھجور یا پانی کے ایک گھونٹ کی کیا قیمت ہے؟ کچھ بھی نہیں، اگر کسی روزہ دار کو افطار کے وقت ان میں سے کوئی چیز یا ان کے علاوہ اور کوئی چیز پیش کر دی جائے تو پیش کرنے والے کا کیا خرچ ہوگا؟ غریب سے غریب شخص کے پاس بھی کچھ نہ کچھ ضرور ہوتا ہے، بالفرض کچھ بھی نہ ہو تو پانی ہی سے افطار کرا سکتا ہے۔ الله تعالیٰ جل شانہ کی رحمت و کرم کا اندازہ کیجیے کہ انہوں نے اپنی رحمت کتنی عام فرما دی ہے تا کہ اس مبارک مہینے میں کوئی غریب سے غریب شخص بھی ان کی رحمت و مغفرت سے محروم نہ رہے اور انعام و کرم بھی اتنا عظیم الشان فرمایا کہ جس کا شکر ادا نہیں ہو سکتا۔
حدیث بالا سے معلوم ہو جانا ہے کہ افطار کرنے والے کے روزے کے برابر، افطار کرانے والے کو ثواب ملتا ہے، تو صرف روزہ کے ثواب ہی کا اندازہ کیجیے کہ وہ کس قدر ہے؟ اس کا اجر و ثواب کتنا بے حساب ہے؟ روزہ کو الله تعالیٰ نے اپنا فرمایا ہے اور قیامت کے دن خود ہی اس کا بدلہ عطا فرمائیں گے اور بھی اس کے بے شمار فضائل میں جو معتبر احادیث میں آئے ہیں وہ سب برحق ہیں ان پر یقین رکھیے۔ خود روزہ رکھ کر ثواب حاصل کیجیے اور اپنے لیے اور اپنی وسعت کے مطابق اعزہ و اقارب اور دیگر احباب یا عام مسلمانوں کے روزے افطار کرا کر ان کے روزے کے برابر کا ثواب بھی حاصل کیجیے۔ اتنا عظیم اجر و ثواب صرف ایک گھونٹ پانی پلانے پر مل رہا ہے۔ جلدی کیجیے یہ مہینہ تو لوٹ کا ہے، جس قدر ثواب حاصل کرنا ہے اور جتنے روزوں کا ثواب لینا ہے حاصل کیجیے۔ یہ موقع پھر ہاتھ نہیں آئے گا اس کو نہایت غنیمت جانیے اور پھر ثواب ہی نہیں بلکہ ہر شخص کے روزہ افطار کرانے کے ساتھ دوزخ سے نجات کا پروانہ اور گناہوں کی معافی کی ضمانت بھی موجود ہے اور آخرت کی نجات کا دارومدار انہی باتوں پر ہے۔ بھلا بتائیے؟ جس شخص کے گناہ معاف کر دیے گئے ہوں اور جہنم سے نجات کا پروانہ اور بے انتہا اجر و ثواب اس کے ہمراہ ہو تو اس کو آخرت میں کیا غم ہوگا؟ وہ بڑے سکون و چین سے ہوگا، چہرہ مسرت و شادمانی سے تر و تازہ ہوگا۔

English translation
Zaid ibn Khalid al-Juhani narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever provides for the breaking of a fasting person's fast will have a reward equal to his (the fasting person's), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person.'
It is a special glory of Allah the Exalted's kindness and generosity that He grants the one who encourages some good deed, or helps in it, or in any way takes a share in it, a reward equal to that of the one who performs the deed — so that within us the spirit of 'cooperation in righteousness and piety' (helping one another and lending a hand in deeds of goodness and piety) may arise. This noble Hadith too contains encouragement of this same kind.
In another narration it comes that it was said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! not every one of us has the means to provide iftar (so will the poor be deprived of this great reward?). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Allah the Exalted will give this reward even to the person who provides a fasting person's iftar with a little milk or with just a single gulp of water. (The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), continuing his discourse, further said:) And whoever feeds a fasting person a full meal, Allah the Exalted will give him to drink from my Pool (i.e. al-Kauthar) such a drink that after it he will never feel thirst again, until he enters Paradise. (Reported by Baihaqi)
From this Hadith the very great merit of providing iftar is established. For providing iftar, Allah the Exalted grants three gifts; and these gifts are not only for feeding a full meal, but are granted even for providing iftar with a single dried date or fresh date, or a little milk, or a single gulp of water. Those three gifts are: (1) forgiveness of sins; (2) salvation from the Fire of Hell; and (3) whoever provides the breaking of a fasting person's fast, the one who provides the iftar receives a reward equal to that fasting person, in such a way that not a particle is diminished from the reward of the fasting person.
Consider! What is the price of a single dried date, or a single date, or a single gulp of water? Nothing at all. If any of these, or something else besides them, is presented to a fasting person at the time of iftar, what will it cost the one who presents it? Even the poorest of the poor has something or other; and supposing he has nothing at all, then he can provide iftar with water alone. Judge the mercy and generosity of Allah the Exalted, Majestic is His station — how universal He has made His mercy, so that in this blessed month not even the poorest of the poor may remain deprived of His mercy and forgiveness; and He has bestowed a bounty and generosity so magnificent that its due thanks cannot be rendered.
From the above Hadith it becomes known that the one who provides iftar receives a reward equal to the fast of the one breaking it. So just judge the reward of the fast itself — how great is it? How incalculable is its reward and recompense? Allah the Exalted has called the fast His own, and on the Day of Resurrection He Himself will grant its recompense; and its countless other excellences that have come in reliable Hadiths are all true — believe in them. Keep the fast yourself and gain the reward, and, for yourself and according to your means, provide the iftar of relatives and kin and other friends, or of the general Muslims, and thereby gain also a reward equal to their fast. So immense a reward and recompense is being had merely for giving a single gulp of water to drink. Hasten! This month is (as if) a windfall; gain as much reward as you can, and take the reward of as many fasts as you can. This opportunity will not come to hand again — regard it as a great prize; and then it is not merely reward, but with the breaking of every person's fast there is also present a certificate of salvation from Hell and a guarantee of the forgiveness of sins, and the salvation of the Hereafter depends on these very things. Tell me — the person whose sins have been forgiven, and who has with him a certificate of salvation from Hell and boundless reward and recompense, what grief will he have in the Hereafter? He will be in great peace and contentment; his face will be fresh and radiant with joy and gladness.
